IT’S NOT long now until the biggest night in Australian music returns. We are, of course, talking about the ARIA Awards, which is set to touch down in Sydney again this November. On September 21, the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) unveiled the nominees for the Awards’ 2023 iteration — and boy, is it set to be an exciting one.

Genesis Owusu, our September digital cover star, leads the pack with seven ARIA Award nominations for his album STRUGGLER. The musician received nods for Album Of The Year, Best Hip Hop/Rap Release, Best Independent Release, Best Solo Artist and more. He’s closely followed by homegrown superstars G Flip, Dom Dolla and Troye Sivan, who received six nods each. Nominees also include local favourites Kylie Minogue, Cub Sport, Peach PRC, DMA’s, Budjerah and MAY-A across various categories, as well as international acts like Beyoncé and Taylor Swift.

The 2023 ARIA Awards will also feature a celebration of hip-hop’s 50th anniversary and see the induction of Jet into the ARIAS Hall of Fame. It’s sure to be major — and you won’t want to miss it. Ahead, discover everything you need to know about the 2023 ARIAs, including when and where to watch it.
