IWC’s Ingenieur collection is famous for its bold design, technical innovation and timeless style. This was when Gérald Genta created the first Ingenieur SL watch in 1976, the first integrated bracelet watch, which was a perfect combination of tough functionality and luxury design. IWC Schaffhausen has this year added seven new references to the Ingenieur collection, new complications, new materials, new sizes, all of which pay homage to Genta’s legacy but are modern. Brad Pitt’s involvement in the Formula 1-inspired film F1 has brought the Ingenieur into the limelight once again with a touch of Hollywood glamour.
What new IWC Ingenieur watches were revealed at Watches and Wonders 2025?

Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar 41
IWC is a well-known watchmaker in terms of complications, and the Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar 41 is no exception. This watch is housed in a stainless steel case of 41mm and is powered by the Calibre 82650, a movement that allows all calendar functions to be changed via the crown rather than using pushers. The dial is in dark blue with a basketweave texture that looks great against the radial brushed subdials for date, day, month and moon phase. There is a leap year indicator that is hidden in the day sub dial at 9 o’clock. The integrated bracelet provides comfort and wearability for the watch, even with its robust dimensions. This model with its exhibition caseback providing a view of the movement is a perfect fit for a collection that prides itself on engineering excellence.

Ingenieur Automatic 35
WC also introduces the Ingenieur Automatic 35 for those who like smaller watches. There are three versions of this new size; two in stainless steel with black or silver dials and one in pink gold with a matching tone on tone gold dial. The 35mm diameter watch is bold in character with its integrated bracelet and textured dial pattern but its size does not diminish its power. The pink gold reference is a statement piece for the collector who wants to wear luxury discreetly. On the other hand, the steel versions are more suitable for everyday wear. The watch features an exhibition case back that shows the automatic Calibre 47110 and is both refined and practical.

Ingenieur Automatic 42
This is the Ingenieur Automatic 42 with a full black ceramic case made from zirconium oxide ceramic. This is the largest of the year’s releases at 42mm but thanks to the material composition it is not too heavy. There are three different finishes: satin, sandblasted, and polished which makes it look like a multi-part watch. The smoked sapphire caseback provides a tinted view of the Calibre 82111 movement inside which is powered by IWC’s Pellaton winding system. This model is not in any way traditional and yet still adheres to the original design principles of Genta.

Ingenieur Automatic 40
There are two new additions to the line of last year’s Ingenieur Automatic 40: one with a warm green dial inspired by Brad Pitt’s role in F1 and the other in pink gold with a black dial. The green dialled version is especially interesting for the vintage look of the colour that is evocative of Pitt’s custom vintage Ingenieur SL ref. 1832 that he wore during filming.
This watch has the classic look of old-school motorsport but with modern touches like gilt accents. In F1, Pitt plays Sonny Hayes, a retired racing driver brought back to Formula 1 to head a struggling team. The watch that his character wears in the film is an Ingenieur, and it is perfectly integrated into the film’s storyline and visual identity of the film, which is a clear demonstration of how watches can move beyond their utilitarian function to become cultural symbols.

Final Thoughts
The 2025 Ingenieur collection demonstrates IWC’s skill at merging tradition with modernity and its position as a leader in the world of luxury sports watches. From complications such as perpetual calendar to daring materials such as ceramic and titanium, every release feels both intentional and effective. The connection between Brad Pitt and the Ingenieur elevates this collection beyond its original appeal. The bespoke vintage Ingenieur SL ref. 1832 in green dial that Pitt wears during F1 highlights how timepieces unite individual aesthetics with narrative power. Even if you prefer Pitt’s Hollywood flair to Genta’s timeless style, IWC has produced something remarkable for watch enthusiasts and collectors to appreciate.
