IF SUMMER HAD A TIMEKEEPER, this might be it. Franck Muller and Tokyo-based streetwear label #FR2 have reunited for a second collaboration, this time dialling up the colour, the irreverence, and the heat. The result?

The #FR2NCK MULLER Vanguard Beach Limited Edition – a vivid, high-low celebration of precision watchmaking with its toes firmly in the sand.

The first #FR2NCK MULLER drop in 2023 – an instant sell-out – was bold in black and white; this year, it’s all about saturated hues and a softer pace.

Available in Heatwave Red, Surf Blue, and Tropical Green – each limited to just 300 pieces – the release reimagines the original Vanguard Beach through a streetwear lens, trading monochrome attitude for something far more escapist. Think midday sun, surfboards.

Crafted in a lightweight glass fibre composite, the tonneau case is beach-ready but never basic. A velcro-fastened nylon strap, printed in graphic #FR2 type, keeps things practical and punchy, while inside ticks Franck Muller’s MVT 2536 automatic calibre.

On the dial, the Fxxking Rabbits return in all their subversive charm, now caught mid-summer – lounging under beach umbrellas, tangled in greenery, or catching waves.

The 2 o’clock date window plays double duty: a nod to the #FR2 name and a clever stand-in for the blazing sun.

Come nightfall, Super-Luminova lights up the scene.

More than a collector’s edition or a brand flex, the #FR2NCK MULLER Vanguard Beach feels like a wink to the watch world’s more playful potential. It’s horology, yes – but filtered through sea spray and sun-bleached days.

A limited edition, yes – but made for a mindset that’s anything but.
