Austin Butler’s dainty Breitling is the leading man watch to wear
The actor wore one of the Swiss watchmaker's newer dainty models to a screening of his upcoming film 'Caught Stealing'

YOU’RE GONNA WANNA get Caught Stealing Austin Butler’s dainty Breitling.
At an early screening of his upcoming film in Puerto Rico, the actor walked into the packed cinema wearing a sheer Henley top layered over a singlet and classic black trousers. If that doesn’t fit the leading man image already, he chose the Swiss watchmaker’s Chronomat 32, a smaller model that’s becoming a popular size preference amongst Hollywood’s top actors. Think Paul Mescal, Timothée Chalamet, Jacob Elordi in skinny timepieces by other watchmakers.
It’s only proving that small watches on men aren’t a passing fad, too. When Butler announced his ambassadorship with Breitling last year, the partnership aligned with Breitling’s newer releases of smaller, retro-modern watches for men. They’re the kind of elegantly sized timepieces preferred by Marlon Brando and Paul Newman, leading men of a bygone era whom Butler idolises.

The Chronomat 32 has been a particular favourite of Butler’s, first wearing it to the Eddington Cannes Film Festival premiere. Featuring a stainless steel case and namesake 32 mm diameter with an 8.54 mm thickness, the watch slips in and out of a sleeve cuff with ease. It’s one of the models Breitling has marked in their new era of all-purpose functionality meets black-tie appropriate.
