IT’S AFL’S NIGHT OF NIGHTS. On Monday in Melbourne, footy’s biggest stars pulled on their black tie best for the 2025 Brownlow Medal, bringing their partners, teammates, friends and mothers along for a ride down the red carpet. And while the Brownlow is said to be all about the ladies (and rightly so, there were some sublime gowns on show), the guys adhered to the black tie dress code (right on).

How, then, do you stand out in a sea of black-and-white suits? Well, in our books, Josh Daicos and Jy Simpkom scored points for the drape and overall flattering fit of their tuxedoes. Meanwhile, Luke Davies and Bailey Smith opted for black shirts instead of your standard white – a sure style move to stand out from the crowd. But what takes the cake was Smith’s Oakleys, which, along with his long, lush locks, was black tie done Aussie style at its peak.
