TIMED TO CATCH the height of summer and the annual migration of tennis fans to Melbourne, Golden Goose has released a limited edition tennis capsule timed to Melbourne’s peak summer season, marking the brand’s latest Australia-focused project. The collection has launched with an eye toward aligning with the Australian Open period, drawing on the city’s long association with tennis and its role as one of the sport’s most recognisable global stages.

Designed as a short-run capsule, the release centres on footwear, apparel and accessories that reference tennis through material choices, colour and graphic detail. The palette is anchored in deep blue, a nod to Melbourne’s hard courts, paired with white, tennis yellow and natural textures. Across the range, finishes are intentionally worn in, with crackled leathers and softened fabrics designed to feel lived in from the outset.

Two genderless sneaker styles lead the collection. The Super-Star features a white leather upper with an ice suede star and blue heel tab, while the Ball-Star uses white nappa leather with crackled leather accents, finished with a black star and heel tab. Both styles include Australia-specific details, such as tongue patches depicting a koala and a kangaroo playing tennis, navy laces, tennis-inspired insoles and a metal koala pin attached to the laces. These elements are also available separately as part of a Tournament Pack.

The footwear is supported by a small apparel offering. A white T-shirt carries a tennis graphic in tournament colours with a washed finish, while a heritage-style white sweatshirt features a kangaroo patch on the front and the Golden Goose logo on the back. A True Blue bandana with tennis-themed graphics completes the capsule.

During the tournament, Golden Goose stores in Melbourne will be reworked with a tennis-inspired in-store setup, alongside a dedicated Co-Creation experience. Customers can personalise sneakers and apparel with embroidered patches, pins, laces and sneaker tabs that reflect the colours and symbols of Melbourne’s tennis season.

The collection is available in Golden Goose stores in Melbourne and Sydney, as well as online. If you happen to be in Melbourne this week, the brand will host an in-store event on January 22 at its Collins Street Melbourne location, bringing together members of the local community, athletes and tennis fans to celebrate the sport’s cultural presence in the city.
