The cast of 'Euphoria' and other stars react to Angus Cloud’s death
"I’m so grateful I got the chance to know him in this life, to call him a brother, to see his warm kind eyes and bright smile, or hear his infectious cackle of a laugh."
TRIBUTES ARE flooding in for Euphoria star Angus Cloud, who passed away yesterday at the age of 25. The cast of Euphoria, and a range of other celebrities, are in mourning after Cloud’s shocking death and have shared emotional tributes on social media.
Cloud starred as kind-hearted drug dealer Fezco (better known as simply ‘Fez’) in the first two seasons of HBO’s hit teen-drama Euphoria alongside Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney and Jacob Elordi. Despite relatively limited experience prior to his role in Euphoria, Cloud proved his acting chops and his character quickly became a fan-favourite. As one of the most beloved young actors in the industry, Cloud’s sudden passing has been a shock for those close to him.
“Angus was special to all of us in so many ways,” Cloud’s family said in a statement. “Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”
Cloud’s cause of death has not been confirmed, but has been reported as a “possible overdose”.
In the wake of Cloud’s sudden passing, there has been an outpouring of grief online. From Zendaya to Drake, read on to find out how the biggest stars have reacted.
Zendaya
Zendaya, Euphoria’s leading actress and co-star to Cloud, shared an emotional tribute on Instagram.
“Words are not enough to describe the infinite beauty that is Angus,” she began, in the caption of a black-and-white photo of Cloud. “I’m so grateful I got the chance to know him in this life, to call him a brother, to see his warm kind eyes and bright smile, or hear his infectious cackle of a laugh (I’m smiling now just thinking of it).”
“I know people use this expression often when talking about folks they love…’they could light up any room they entered’ but boy let me tell you, he was the best at it. I’d like to remember him that way,” she continued. “For all of the boundless light, love and joy he always managed to give us. I’ll cherish every moment.”
Zendaya finished her tribute with an expression of condolences for Cloud’s family. “My heart is with his mother and family at this time and please be kind and patient as grief looks different for everyone.”
Sydney Sweeney
Sydney Sweeney, who’s role as Cassie Howard in Euphoria earned her an Emmy nomination for ‘outstanding actress in a drama series’ also shared a tribute for Cloud. In a post featuring several images of Sweeney and Cloud together, the actress reflected on Cloud’s kind heart, and unparalleled sense of humour.
“Angus you were an open soul, with the kindest heart, and you filled every room with laughter,” Sweeney said. “This is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to post, and I’m struggling to find all the words.”
“You will be missed more than you know, but I’m so blessed to have known you in this lifetime, and I’m sure everyone who has ever met you feels the same. This heartache is real and I wish we could’ve had one more hug and 711 run. All my love is with you.”
Drake
Drake, who worked as an executive producer on Euphoria, also paid his respects in a simple but touching tribute to Cloud. Drake shared an image of Cloud on his Instagram story, captioning the photo with the words “Good soul.”
Kid Cudi
Cloud attracted fans from all over the world, so it should come as no surprise that celebrities outside of the cast of Euphoria are also sharing tributes. Rapper Kid Cudi posted on X (the platform formerly known as Twitter) to share his thoughts. “This hurts man. One of the realest dudes in this business,” he wrote.

Kehlani
Emblematic of how, when in mourning, it can be difficult to put your grief into words, singer Kehlani expressed her whirlwind of emotions on Instagram. “sat for a long time. u fucked the whole world up, but you really fucked everybody at home up. it’s a deep one,” she said. “not too many words when it’s this close to home. not many words when it’s a bigger conversation.”
“i ain’t got much more to say except the real person was more complex & more solid than a tv character. that person deserve to be remembered in totality. hugging all my patnas from back home.. direct your prayers towards his mother, his family.”
“love you brudda. energy never dies. long live you,” she finished.
Sam Levinson
Euphoria creator Sam Levinson, who had a role in discovering Cloud, described the actors impact to Deadline: “There was no one quite like Angus. He was too special, too talented and way too young to leave us so soon. He also struggled, like many of us, with addiction and depression. I hope he knew how many hearts he touched. I loved him. I always will. Rest in peace and God Bless his family.”
Jordyn Woods
Model and social media personality Jordyn Woods had a strong relationship with Cloud, and paid tribute to her friend in several Instagram stories. Woods described Cloud as “such a rare soul” and revealed that his abilities extend beyond acting and to arts and crafts by sharing a water bottle the actor decorated. “I love this art piece he made me and I’ll keep it forever,” she said.
Rachel Zegler
“please remember how loved you are,” tweeted West Side Story star Rachel Zegler in a message that appears to be targeted towards not only Cloud, but anyone struggling with their mental health, “this world is so quick to make you feel otherwise. there are reasons to stick around. and this world needs you. oh, angus. we celebrate you.”
