The best men's Halloween costumes of 2025
There's no better excuse to dress up as one the year's most viral pop-culture moments than Halloween. Here, we pick the best low-effort, high-reward costumes

HALLOWEEN IS A BIT of an afterthought in Australia. If you’re anything like us, you’ll leave it to the last minute, only to pull together a half-baked concept of a costume. But this year, we’ve vowed to approach the occasion differently; after all, Halloween is like a ‘the year that was’ retrospective. It’s an excellent time to dress up as the year’s defining pop culture moments.
Whether it’s channelling the Gallagher brothers by wearing the Oasis X Adidas collection, or emulating the world’s most famous couple in a multitude of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce outfits, thinking big and esoteric in your costume will score you the most points. And if you’re thinking of going as simple as possible, dressing up as Leonardo DiCaprio in One Battle After Another is about as easy as it gets.
Here, we’ve brought our minds together to collate a list of some of the most viral moments of the year, while considering how each could be pulled off as a Halloween costume. Scroll on for this year’s curation of the best last-minute costumes for men, from the sexy to the funny to the genuinely cool.
The best last minute Halloween costumes for 2025
Bob Ferguson from One Battle After Another

The ultimate low-effort costume for Halloween 2025 is Leonardo DiCaprio’s character from One Battle After Another. Why? Because you probably already own much of what’s needed to pull the costume off. The flannelette robe is the center piece, while you likely already have grey pants, a black beanie and chunky shades in your wardrobe.
The football player and the Showgirl

This is for the guy whose partner is way more into dressing up than he is. She can go all out mimicking Taylor Swift’s wardrobe from her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, while all you really need is a Chiefs jersey and, if you really want to commit to the bit, a beard.
Your gym teacher and your English teacher

Apologies for the back-to-back Swift-related costumes, but this is another easy one. Riffing off Swift and Kelce’s collab post announcing their engagement (the caption of which read: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married”), all you need to do is pull some items from your wardrobe that will make you look like an educator. A whistle won’t hurt, and you should already have a plethora of sweatshirts and gym shorts tucked away somewhere.
The Coldplay couple

This is one of those couples costumes that you’ll need to act out for others to understand. A light blue polo and black tank top don’t exactly scream Coldplay couple, but the action of the duo going from entwined to hiding from the camera is unmistakeable.
Carmy from The Bear

In the era of the ‘hot chef’, dressing up as Jeremy Allen White’s character in The Bear, Carmy Berzatto, is not only accessible but attractive to emulate. Throughout the show, Carmy has proven to be a bit of a menswear nerd: his oven stuffed with jeans that he had to pawn off, or his artisanal white T-shirts. His wears may be the highest version of what they are, but that’s also what makes it accessible to recreate with pieces we already have. Just slap on an apron (and have some generational trauma in your eyes).
Oasis

If you want your Halloween costume to enter your permanent rotation once the spooky season has wrapped up, dressing as either of the Gallagher brothers could be a good bet. That’s because putting together an Oasis costume is relatively easy and evergreen given the band’s collab with Adidas, which is now available in Australia.
JFK Jr

Nearly three decades after his death via a plane crash off the eastern seaboard, JFK Jr’s New York It boy style lives on. What makes the political scion’s wardrobe the blueprint for the current taste for ’90s shapes lies in his athletic short shorts, baggy graphic T-shirts and sneakers. In other words, the stuff you already have lying around.
The Louvre burglars

A very topical and easy to pull off choice, dressing as the Louvre robbers only requires a high-vis vest and an all-black outfit.
Bruce Springsteen

Most, if not all, music legends of the 20th century have had their iconic fits turned into Halloween costumes. Rocking up in an Elvis suit, for instance, may be in poor taste nowadays. But in new film Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, Jeremy Allen White shows just how easy it is to dress up as The Boss. You have two options: plaid shirt, or leather jacket. Both are paired with jeans, and both are easy wins.
Superman

Dressing as Superman for Halloween is a classic move that never really went out of style. In fact, it is pretty played out. But, with the release of the 2025 reboot, Superman is topical again, and a great Halloween costume once more. Any costume or party store should have a basic Superman suit ready for you to slip on.
