The best watches spotted at the 'F1: The Movie' premiere
From IWC and Audemars Piguet to Jacob & Co., these are the watches that caught the eye at the 'F1: The Movie' world premiere.

WHEN THE CAST OF ‘F1: THE MOVIE’ stepped out for its world premiere in New York, the watches were always going to be part of the show. After all, this is Formula 1 — where sponsors rule the grid, logos are everywhere, and time is everything.
IWC, who naturally found its way into the film as the official watch partner of the fictional APXGP team, was front and centre. And with its long-standing ties to the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team, it makes sense the cast doubled down on the motorsport-inspired wristwear for the red carpet, too.
Damson Idris led the charge in an IWC Ingenieur, with that signature grid dial nodding neatly to the chequered flag. Javier Bardem followed suit in another IWC pick, while the rest of the guest list delivered their own takes — from AP to Jacob & Co. to Tudor.
Here’s a look at some of the standout watches spotted trackside — or rather, red carpet side — on the night.
IWC Schaffhausen Ingenieur Automatic 40 – Damson Idris

Damson Idris wears the IWC Schaffhausen Ingenieur Automatic 40 in 18-carat rose gold with black dial. Inspired by Gérald Genta’s original 1970s design, the updated Ingenieur keeps the bold integrated bracelet and grid-pattern dial that nods to its motorsport DNA.

John Mayer wears the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar in black ceramic. The 41mm case houses one of AP’s most complex calibres, combining a full perpetual calendar with moonphase — all wrapped in ultra-light, scratch-resistant ceramic.
IWC Schaffhausen Perpetual Calendar 41 – Javier Bardem

Javier Bardem wears the IWC Schaffhausen Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar 41, featuring a blue dial and stainless steel case. The movement tracks date, day, month, year and moonphase — all automatically adjusted — while the signature grid dial gives a subtle nod to the racing world.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Chronograph – Darkoo

Darkoo wears the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Chronograph in green with rose gold case and bracelet. The 41mm design pairs AP’s signature Grande Tapisserie dial with integrated gold bracelet and flyback chronograph movement under the hood.
Tudor Black Bay – Isack Hadjar

Isack Hadjar wears the Tudor Black Bay Chrono in black and white with black leather strap. The panda-style dial nods to vintage racing chronographs, while the COSC-certified movement delivers 70 hours of power reserve under the 41mm case.
Jacob & Co Epic x Chrono 44mm – Edouard Philipponnat

Edouard Philipponnat wears the Jacob & Co Epic x Chrono 44mm in rose gold with black rubber strap. The oversized case houses a high-performance chronograph movement, while the bold skeletonised dial keeps Jacob & Co’s signature maximalist aesthetic firmly on show.
