All the JAW dropping new fits from the set of ‘Deliver Me From Nowhere’
As far as biopics go, it's perhaps the perfect casting. Here, we round up all the looks from set so far, as well as details on the cast and plot
WE LIKE TO TALK about how unrecognisable an actor is in a biopic. Whether it’s a haircut, a little ‘stache (we see you, Timothée Chalamet), or sweating through a grotesque body suit; we put a lot of stock into how good a biopic will be based off these transformations. But not when it comes to Jeremy Allen White.
The star of The Bear was recently seen filming Deliver Me from Nowhere in New Jersey, an upcoming film about legendary musician, the ‘Boss’, Bruce Springsteen. White will play the titular role. Seen around the city during production, we’ve seen White don a variety of Springsteen’s period fits, which largely consists of leather jackets, plaid shirts, and unruly curls (thought that comes with White). Recently, the musician visited the set in Freehold, New Jersey, posing with his younger selves White and Matthew Anthony Pellicano, who will be his child self. It’s unclear how much liberty Springsteen holds over the production, indeed, how his story is told, but he seems to be quite happy with it.

What is Deliver Me from Nowhere about?
Deliver Me from Nowhere is an adaptation of a book of the same name written by Warren Zanes, which was published in 2023. Zanes’ biography follows the making of Bruce Springsteen’s sixth studio album Nebraska, released in 1982.
Specific plot details are still under wraps, but the film will follow along these lines as White plays Springsteen during a landmark moment in his career. The film is premised as following the emotional journey Springsteen embarks on to record Nebraska.
Deliver Me from Nowhere will also be the first biopic authorised by Springsteen. Before now, Springsteen has appeared in as well as approved screen works relating to his career, notably his famous cameo in the 2000 film High Fidelity.
Who is in the cast of Deliver Me from Nowhere?
- Jeremy Allen White is playing Bruce Springsteen, aka ‘The Boss’.
- Jeremy Strong is playing Jon Landeau, Springsteen’s long-time mentor and manager. Recently, Strong was seen opposite Sebastian Stan’s Donal Trump in The Apprentice as his lawyer Roy Cohn.
- Paul Walter Hauser will play guitar tech Mike Batlan.
- Stephen Graham is playing Springsteen’s father.
- Odessa Young is playing Faye, a love interest in the formative years of Springsteen’s life.
- Johnny Cannizzaro has recently joined the cast as E Street Band member Stevie Van Zandt, who plays guitar and mandolin.
- Harrison Sloan Gilbertson has joined the cast. Details on the Aussie actor’s character are not yet confirmed, but it’s speculated Gilbertson is playing a long time friend of Springsteen’s.
Who is directing Deliver Me from Nowhere?
Scott Cooper is directing Caught Stealing. Cooper and Warren Zanes (who wrote the book the film is based on) are co-writers of the screenplay.
Filming is currently underway around New York City and New Jersey (where Springsteen is a native of).
“Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska has profoundly shaped my artistic vision,” Cooper said in a statement. “The album’s raw, unvarnished portrayal of life’s trials and resilience resonates deeply with me. Our film aims to capture that same spirit, bringing Warren Zanes’ compelling narrative of Bruce’s life to the screen with authenticity and hope, honouring Bruce’s legacy in a transformative cinematic experience.”
When is the release date of Deliver Me from Nowhere?
The film is slated for release in late 2025.
Though you needn’t wait too long for a musician biopic. Timothée Chalamet‘s 60s-era Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown, is coming out on January 23, 2025 in Australia.
