AS WINTER sets in, few things become more seductive than plonking on the sofa, snack of choice in hand, as you dive into a new episode of the most talked-about new Netflix series.
And rightly so, as this coming July, there’s a slew of new releases waiting to be added to your watch list. From new seasons of Netflix original series like The Witcher and The Lincoln Lawyer to thrilling documentaries like How to Become a Cult Leader and even Hollywood films like Don’t Worry Darling and Black Adam, your Netflix app is set to get a fair bit of action this month.
Here, we round up what we’re most excited for, as well as everything else hitting your Netflix account this July 2023.
The Witcher: Season 3 Volume 2
This will be the last time you see Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia. Volume 2 of the third season of The Witcher will find Geralt and Yennefer working together to try and keep Ciri safe, all the while dangerous forces are trying to tear them apart as war brews on the Continent. Determined to protect his newly-reunited family, Geralt will face off against monarchs, mages and beasts — political corruption, dark magic, and treachery is at play here.
They Cloned Tyrone
This pulpy sci-fi comedy brings together an unlikely trio — a hustler, a pimp and a pro — who come to discover that an eerie series of events is actually a part of a sinister neighbourhood conspiracy. John Boyega, Teyonah Parris and Jamie Foxx star in this wild comedy as they take on a mind-boggling government conspiracy lurking directly beneath their hood that is threatening the local Black population.
Don’t Worry Darling
Alice Chambers, a suburban housewife, finds life unraveling at the seams in an otherwise perfect town when she begins to ask unwelcome questions. Harry Styles and Florence Pugh star in this thriller that leads to shocking revelations as Alice makes it her mission to discover why everything is so perfect in this quasi-town, only to find out it really isn’t at all.
May we also cast your memory back to the film’s premiere at Venice Film Festival in 2022? Yes, quite the controversy. Lap it up from the comfort of your couch if you didn’t catch it in theatres.
