All the snazziest menswear from the 2025 Golden Globes

ONE MINUTE WE’RE ringing in the new year, the next the Golden Globes are upon us. Kicking off in Hollywood as we speak, the 82nd iteration of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s awards ceremony marks the first fancy red carpet event of the 2025 awards season, which typically means we’re in store for some very big fits.

This year, many of the most bankable stars in the movie business are nominated, so we can bank on their attendance: Adrien Brody, Daniel Craig, Sebastian Stan, Colman Domingo, Ralph Fiennes and Timothée Chalamet are up for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama, while Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy is also packed with big names.

On the Aussie front, Hugh Grant is nominated in the latter category for his performance in Heretic, while for his role in the The Brutalist, Guy Pearce will go up against the likes of Edward Norton and Denzel Washington in Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture. When the 2025 nominations were released late last year, Nicole Kidman also became the second most nominated Globes actress ever, and she’s a favourite to take out the Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for her performance in the very erotic erotic thriller, Babygirl.

Because many of the nominated films haven’t yet hit cinemas in Australia, the Globes are like an appetiser for what’s to premiere in local cinemas this month. Meanwhile, the red carpet will act as an indication of which celebs plan to serve this awards season. Our bets are on the cast of Queer, who effectively won the Venice Film Festival red carpet last year, plus Chalamet (in his Dylan era), Zendaya (duh) and – our wildcard – Adrien Brody, who’s been looking extra good lately.
