Henry Cavill is now a Longines man
Elegance takes human form in Henry Cavill, making the actor a fitting choice as Longines’ latest 'ambassador of elegance'

HE MAY NOT bring any of his fictional on-screen powers to the role, but Henry Cavill will bring a lot else to his new position as a Longines ‘ambassador of elegance’ – including but limited to: a smouldering stare (if not quite X-ray vision), a great deal of poise, and of course, all the requisite elegance.
When it comes to selecting its ambassadors, Longines takes a highly discerning approach. In addition to Cavill, there are only seven other Longines ambassadors of elegance, including Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Winslet. The reason for this exclusivity is that Longines reserves its ambassadorships for tastemakers who truly embody elegance and believe that it’s an attitude, rather than an attribute.
Cavill fits that bill. He has established himself as one of the most talented and versatile actors in recent memory, from his iconic portrayals of Superman and Geralt in The Witcher, to his roles in the Mission: Impossible franchise and Argylle. Cavill has range, a trait that extends to his off-screen pursuits. He has his own production company, Promethean Productions, where he focuses on telling original, meaningful stories. In any undertaking, Cavill carries with him his characteristic elegance.

“What draws me to Longines is their understated elegance,” says Cavill. “True quality doesn’t need to announce itself. It’s evident in every detail and in every action. This is a philosophy, backed by generations of precision, craftsmanship and artistry, that resonates deeply with my own values.”
“In Henry, we recognise a real affinity with our brand’s values,” says Longines CEO Matthias Breschan. “His sophistication, genuine warmth and multifaceted personality reflect what elegance means today. Whether commanding the screen in epic productions or sharing his passions for aviation and equestrianism, he maintains an authenticity and grace that makes him a clear embodiment of the Longines spirit.”
Despite his busy schedule, you can expect Cavill to take a hands-on approach towards his new role as an ambassador. He’s already planning to take time off from his upcoming projects to visit Longines’ headquarters in Saint-Imier, high in the Swiss Alps. There, he will witness the craftsmanship that goes into every Longines timepiece, bestowing them with enough elegance to match his own.
