HE MAY NOT bring any of his fictional on-screen powers to the role, but Henry Cavill will bring a lot else to his new position as a Longines ‘ambassador of elegance’ – including but limited to: a smouldering stare (if not quite X-ray vision), a great deal of poise, and of course, all the requisite elegance.

When it comes to selecting its ambassadors, Longines takes a highly discerning approach. In addition to Cavill, there are only seven other Longines ambassadors of elegance, including Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Winslet. Cavill fits that bill.
