Jaeger-LeCoultre just dropped a new Polaris Chronograph in ocean grey
Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Polaris Chronograph with a new Ocean Grey dial combines technical precision with understated style. A watch designed for those who value craftsmanship, versatility and quiet luxury.

JAEGER-LECOULTRE has once again proven why it’s known as the ‘Watchmaker of Watchmakers’ with the release of its latest addition to the Polaris family: the 2025 Polaris Chronograph Ocean Grey. This new chronograph tells a story of adventure, wrapped up in a watch that feels as at home in the boardroom as it does on a seaside sojourn.
The Polaris collection has been spearheading the movement towards the sophistication of sports watches since 2018, and this latest model continues that legacy. At 42mm, the steel case offers a well-balanced presence on the wrist. The mix of brushed and polished surfaces, sharply curving lugs, slim bezel and distinctive glass-box crystal all give it a refined, modern edge. Even the large crown and robust pushers – design elements inspired by Jaeger-LeCoultre’s iconic 1960s diving watches – serve both aesthetic and practical purposes by ensuring easy grip and operation.
But what truly sets this watch apart is its Ocean Grey lacquer dial. There’s real artistry in its creation: no fewer than 35 layers of lacquer are applied by hand, building a sense of depth that’s hard to look away from. The gradient effect, transitioning from lighter tones at the center to darker edges, mimics the shifting shades of the sea. Subtle sunray brushing on the central disc contrasts beautifully with the smooth gloss of the hour ring. Pops of bright orange bring energy and focus to the chronograph functions, while trapezoid indexes, skeletonised hands and luminescent coatings ensure excellent legibility in all conditions.

Inside, the Polaris Chronograph Ocean Grey is powered by Jaeger-LeCoultre’s in-house Calibre 761. This integrated automatic chronograph movement features twin barrels which provide a generous 65-hour power reserve, and its column-wheel mechanism with a vertical clutch delivers precise performance.
The movement’s fine finishing – from blued screws to Côtes de Genève stripes and an open-worked rotor bearing the JLC motif – is on full display through the sapphire crystal case-back, a reminder of the technical mastery that beats at the heart of the watch.
Versatility is key to the Polaris Chronograph’s charm. It comes with two easily interchangeable straps: a blue-grey canvas that pairs perfectly with the dial’s tones, and a textured black rubber strap for sportier days. So whether you’re dressing up, dressing down, or heading out for adventure, the watch can adapt to suit the moment.
This new model is more than a fresh dial colour or minor update. It’s a thoughtfully crafted watch that combines Jaeger-LeCoultre’s heritage, technical excellence and eye for style into something truly special.
