Iconic Australian hair stylist Kevin Murphy shares his kit essentials

He’s charming and charismatic but down to earth, as he switches between a strong stare and a cheeky squint that lets his personality slip through. The actor, fitted out in Louis Vuitton streetwear, wears his dark waves swept back as ringlets fall across his forehead. It’s a formula for effortless but elevated grooming everyone can master.

Starting with fresh hair, Murphy prepped Josh Heuston’s hair with a detoxifying shampoo. “MAXI.WASH is powerful enough to slough away debris and purify the hair, while removing build up on the scalp with AHAs from fruit extracts,” the hairstylist explains.

For the finishing touch on Heuston’s curls, “I used a small amount of SUPER.GOO on dry hair to give extra definition to the ends of the curls with added control,” explains Murphy. “I wanted something that provided a thick, modern feel and strong hold yet moveable texture – and without dryness or a crispy crunch.”
