FASTEN YOUR CUFFLINKS, lace up your shoes, straighten your tie, it’s time for the 2024 Met Gala. Often dubbed fashion’s Super Bowl, the annual gala benefit for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute calls for some of the world’s biggest stars to put their best sartorial foot forward. While the red carpet has grown to be a spectacle, it is also the battleground for polarising debate: did this guest follow the theme?

This year, the dress code is The Garden of Time, relating to the spring exhibition Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, curated by Andrew Bolton. Naturally, the theme brings to mind ethereality, florals, and a garden party of the Alice In Wonderland variety. And while menswear at the gala is often kept to the black suit, it would be a treat to see who perhaps gives the theme their own twist or dazzles in something unexpected.

Here are some of the best dressed looks from the Met Gala so far.
