AS OASIS CONTINUES their wildly successful reunion tour, the band’s collaboration with Adidas is proving to be one of the most in-demand fashion items of the year.

Released as an all-encompassing Oasis x Adidas Originals collection, the range (which is frequently sold out), retails at live shows and Adidas’ stores across the UK, but it isn’t available in Australia yet. It can be purchased on Oasis’ official online store, but that’s only if you’re willing to fork out extra for exorbitant international shipping prices.

A new Oasis x Adidas collab is dropping soon. This time, sneakers are the focus, specifically the Adidas Spezial. The model is one of Adidas’ most popular, and with this new collab, expect a surge in sales. Both Liam and Noel Gallagher are getting their own standalone editions, designed by the men themselves – it would be very on brand if the reason they each got their own version is that they couldn’t agree on one design.

Liam’s Adidas Spezial is an Achille, with a ‘stone khaki/wonder beige-wonder white’ colourway streaked with chocolate-brown accents and custom tooling based on archival models. The sneaker required newly developed outsole moulds and 3D scans of vintage references, combined with nylon uppers, D-ring eyelets and Liam’s portrait stamped on the tongue.

Gary Aspden, curator of Adidas Spezial, explained the inspiration behind the design on Instagram. “Liam knew from the outset that he wanted to do a version of the adidas Achille based on archival versions of that silhouette,” he said. “The first challenge was that there were no existing outsole moulds for a vintage Achille available to us… We knew that if we wanted to get what we wanted we were going to have to create new outsole moulds across the entire size curve.”

Noel Gallagher, on the other hand, has employed a Marathon Spezial that reworks the classic Marathon ’85 silhouette in ‘night navy/clear blue-core black’. Noel’s version features updated suede panels, redesigned proportions and a revised toebox, plus Noel’s image on the tongue and tonal overlays.

Describing the process, Aspden said “Initially we talked about each of the different elements that made up the Marathon ’85 and what we might change to refine them and give a better overall look – essentially a completely revised version of the original reissue.”

Both pairs come with co-branded insoles, gold foil branding and exclusive boxes styled after retro adidas signature athlete packaging.

Where to buy the Oasis x Adidas collab

The official release date for the collab is listed as August 16. Although, it’s likely that the sneakers will only be available in the UK for now, like with the rest of the Oasis x Adidas collection. Check out the Oasis online store if you’re willing to pay for international shipping. Otherwise, you’ll have to wait until October, when Oasis comes to Australia.
