PAUL MCCARTNEY is performing down under for the first time since 2017, in a nationwide arena spectacular. Following weeks of speculation, Matt Gudinski’s Frontier Touring confirmed this morning the 81-year-old will ignite Beatlemania with his Got Back tour across six shows in Australia — including an “intimate” show in Adelaide, his first performance there in 30 years. The City of Churches will kick off his tour, where the Beatles made history in 1964 with around 350,000 fans lining the streets between Adelaide’s airport and town hall just to see the world’s biggest boy band.

Much like Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour earlier this year, the former Beatles bassist is also playing two concerts in cities he’s never performed at. Here’s what we know about McCartney’s likely final Australian tour — and how to nab tickets to the concert of the year.

Where is Paul McCartney performing in Australia?

Paul McCartney’s Got Back Australian tour will be amongst his first concerts in 2023 after his thrilling Glastonbury headliner last year. It’s believed his return to Australian shores is a sign of respect to the late Frontier founder Michael Gudinski, whom he who paid tribute to in 2021, calling him “a one-off and one of Australia’s great music men”.

McCartney’s set will feature his long-time backing band of Paul “Wix” Wickens on the keyboard, Brian Ray on bass/guitar, Rusty Anderson on guitar, and Abe Laboriel jnr on drums. He’ll open with a performance at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on October 18, before taking on Melbourne, Newcastle (his first time), Sydney, Brisbane, and Gold Coast (also, first time).
