TURNS OUT Captain James Tiberius Kirk is an Omega fan. Or, more specifically, the man who plays him on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is. Paul Wesley, the American actor, director, and entrepreneur, first got into watches the same way a lot of collectors do: by buying a Swatch. But it wasn’t until he took a trip to Switzerland with the folks at famous high-end tool watchmaker Omega that he realized the depth of his fondness for iconic styles like the Speedmaster and the De Ville.

There’s a convergence of character and actor here. Captain Kirk, intrepid explorer of the outer reaches of space, is exactly the kind of guy who would find himself gravitating towards a Speedmaster, the first watch that made it to the moon and the one that saved the lives of the Apollo 13 astronauts by helping them figure out how to navigate their way back to Earth after their onboard systems went on the fritz.

Wesley, for his part, is also drawn to the style. In this special edition of Dialed In, he shows off the classic one in his collection, as well as the gold one with a red bezel that he wears with everything from a T-shirt and jeans to a suit. Naturally, as a Swatch fan, Wesley also has a MoonSwatch—the smash-hit collaboration between Omega and Swatch based on the Speedmaster—in his lineup.

But that’s not all.
