PEDRO PASCAL IS continuing his rapid ascension into Hollywood’s upper echelons. A few short years ago, Pascal was little more than a recurring character on Game of Thrones and Narcos. Now, he’s one of the industry’s most sought-after talents following leading roles in The Mandalorian and The Last Of Us, and soon, he’ll be entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Marvel has announced that Pedro Pascal is the new Mister Fantastic, tapping him for The Fantastic Four alongside Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach—of The Bear fame—and Joseph Quinn. The Fantastic Four will be in cinemas from July 25th, 2025. Pascal’s casting comes as a slight surprise, as John Krasinski previously played the same character in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness less than two years ago, but it shouldn’t be.

Pascal’s acting chops have earnt him a reputation as one of the most capable actors in the business, but it’s his swaggering, devil-may-care attitude and effortless style that have landed him roles like Mister Fantastic—even if the character is the polar opposite of those qualities. More on Pascal’s style, the 48 year old’s fashion sense is a lesson in how the everyday can still be classy. Pascal typically opts for ‘fits that don’t look like they’re made up of pieces he just took off the rack; he likes his clothes to look lived in. When he does amp up the formality of his looks, he’ll add relaxed elements to temper the kitsch of such sanctimonious occasions.

Pedro Pascal knows what he likes to wear, be it on the red carpet or the street, and it’s influencing the menswear scene at large. Here, we explore some of his more iconic ‘fits.

Easygoing Prada at the 30th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards

If you haven’t already watched Pascal’s acceptance speech from the 2024 SAG Awards—he took home the honour for best male actor in a drama series—we implore you (TLDR: he didn’t expect to win, got a little too drunk beforehand and then teared up and apologised on stage). But regardless, he looked classy in this simple white Prada shirt with an open collar, which showed just the right amount of chest hair. Extra points for the square toe brogues and mid-waist trousers.

Glimmering Gucci at The Mandalorian’s season three premiere

Like we said, Pascal has never been one to rock the traditional suit and tie on a red carpet. At the season three premiere of The Mandalorian, Pascal brightened up the scene in a butter-coloured shirt, wide-legged trousers and a mustard sweater wrapped precariously around his neck—which we have to assume was intentionally placed. Who doesn’t want to add a touch of The Talented Mr. Ripley to their outfit?

A deep neckline at The Mandalorian season three photocall

Only a week before debuting the previous fit on this list, Pascal attended a Mandalorian photocall in a barely-buttoned crocheted cardigan and more wide-legged (he’s clearly a fan of the breezy feel) cherry-red trousers from Acne Studios. Renowned stylist Julie Ragolia was the mastermind behind this look, which immediately sparked widespread mimicry as observers realised there is a way to style a cardigan that doesn’t make you look like a grandpa.

Dark and dapper Prada at the 2021 BAFTAs

Ok, we’ll admit that Pascal doesn’t completely abstain from formal attire, and his outfit at the 2021 BAFTAs is evidence of such. There’s little of Pascal’s signature flair here, but given that it’s substituted for a pristine Prada long coat, we aren’t complaining. The crisp shirt, pressed pants and polished derbies complete a look that proves Pascal has versatility and can still rock it in formalwear.

Subtly on theme in caramel Burberry at the 2019 Met Gala

The theme of the 2019 Met Gala was ‘Camp: notes on fashion’. As you’d expect, that drew plenty of garish ensembles and ostentatious accessories. But it also produced a few winners with notably subtler themes. One such winner was Pascal’s Burberry suit, with it’s peaked lapels and satin flourishes.

Red hot Valentino and shorts (!) at the 2023 Met Gala

Clearly, Pascal isn’t afraid to bare some leg. We dare say that no one else could pull off this ensemble—and we’re still not entirely sure that Pascal did—but there are worse ways to be experimental. Seeing Pascal gallivanting around in an oversized chilli-red Valentino coat with a matching shirt, a black tie, and of course, some scandalously short shorts isn’t what we expected from last year’s Met Gala, but if nothing else, it was undoubtedly memorable.

A monochrome moment on The Tonight Show

Are non-black suits back? Pascal made a strong case for their return when he visited Jimmy Fallon and co. on The Tonight Show last year. Plain black suits can be so tired, and Pascal provides an ideal alternative here. If you’re planning a wedding outfit—particularly for a fashionably off-kilter, semi-formal spring wedding—there’s inspiration to be found in Pascal’s wardrobe.
