The Australian designer behind Troye Sivan’s $530,000 ARIAs watch
The Perth-born pop icon hit the ARIA Awards red carpet in a Prada ensemble – and a diamond watch worth half a million
HE MAY BE the most famous male pop star in the world right now, but Troye Sivan still has so much time for the Australian music industry. While on his Aussie stadium tour (he plays in Melbourne tonight), the Something To Give Each Other artist arrived at the 2024 ARIA Awards, going casual on the red carpet in a crisp button-up shirt and shades before changing into a black Prada ensemble, complete with a diamond harness, for the ceremony, where he took out three awards.
But the harness wasn’t Sivan’s only blingy moment. On his wrist was a $530,000 watch, not by one of the big Swiss makers, but independent Australian jeweller Stefano Canturi. The designer crafts only 15 watches annually, making Sivan’s iced out number not only locally made, but incredibly rare.
Called the ‘Cubism High Jewell Watch’, it’s set with 334 natural baguette and carré cut diamonds – the bracelet alone is adorned with 194 of them – totalling over 50 carats.
According to the brand, the watch was sold to a private collector prior to its release, making Sivan one of the only people to wear it. Crafted in Canturi’s Sydney studio, it also features a Cubism-set bezel with a Swiss quartz movement, while the case and caseback are made from 18 carat white gold.
On the red carpet, Sivan also wore the brand’s Regina Single Link Diamond Necklace in 18 carat white gold.
At the ARIAs, Sivan took home Album of the Year, Best Solo Artist and Best Pop Release with Something To Give Each Other, which dropped late last year and includes bangers like ‘Rush’ and ‘Got Me Started’.
Before returning to Australia for this string of shows, Sivan was, of course, on the Sweat Tour with Charli XCX. With Charli heading to Australia for Laneway Festival early next year, it’s highly, highly possible Sivan will join her on stage (how could he not?). In the meantime, the owner of that Canturi watch not only owns one of the country’s rarest timepieces – they can also lay claim to having a watch worn by one of the most influential pop stars of our generation.
