It’s here: JW Anderson x Uniqlo’s latest drop – and fashion stylist Elliot Garnaut has thoughts
The new JW Anderson x Uniqlo drop is here. Stylist Elliot Garnaut breaks down the best pieces to shop and how to style them now

THE LATEST UNIQLO AND JW ANDERSON COLLAB drops today, and this time it’s all about rewriting the rules of prep.
There’s always a certain thrill when a new collection lands – affordable, chic, and the sort of staples that slip effortlessly into your wardrobe. The last drop had us layering up in fisherman knits and quilted jackets; this one takes us back to campus with a sleeker, sharper edge.
Fashion stylist and commentator, Elliot Garnaut, who’s been living in the collection already, calls it “sharper and more everyday-ready… a true wardrobe integration to be worn as full looks or separates.”
The theme of “Modern Preppy” is clear in his favourites: the Oxford shirt, Rugby polo, and Straight jeans. “The jeans are so adaptable,” he says. “With a lightweight blazer (as seen in the image above) or even a technical jacket, they feel modern without trying too hard.”
It’s collegiate dressing, but with that Anderson wink – sporty stripes, boxy cuts, subtle ties – a nod, as Garnaut points out, to Jonathan Anderson’s work at Dior. The result? Nostalgic without being costume, versatile enough to wear on repeat, and the kind of pieces that feel like instant wardrobe anchors.

Esquire: How would you style these pieces for spring/summer in Australia?
Elliot Garnaut: For me, the Oxford shirt and Straight jeans are the backbone. I’d wear them half-tucked with a belt and loafers, then throw on a cap and sandals when it’s more relaxed. The Rugby polo has that nostalgic sport vibe, so I’d lean into it with shorts and trainers for weekends, even to the gym! The jeans again are so adaptable; with a lightweight blazer or even a technical jacket, they feel modern without trying too hard.
What makes this collaboration stand out compared to past UNIQLO x JW Anderson drops?
This season feels sharper and more everyday-ready. A true wardrobe integration to be worn as full looks or separates. The focus on ‘modern preppy’ gives it a tighter, more versatile edit than some of the earlier, heritage-led capsules. The sporty elements like rugby polos, college stripes hit the sweet spot of nostalgic without feeling costume. It keeps some of the JWA British DNA but strips it back for year-round wearability. Can we also mention the subtle nod to what Jonathan is doing at Dior… ties I’m looking at you!!
What are your favourite pieces from the collection and why?
Rugby polo: Sporty, nostalgic and easy to wear; it’s a fresh alternative to a knit when the weather warms up.
Straight jeans: A clean, straight leg cut that feels modern and works with everything. It’s a silhouette that’s really defining 2025 denim. The fit is just too good. I bought every colour!
Oxford Shirt. Crisp and boxy, it’s the anchor of the modern preppy story and layers effortlessly. A true classic.
