IN WATCH-WORLD SPEAK, an “exhibition collection” isn’t something with interactive displays for schoolchildren, or put on in a museum hall.

Instead, it refers to a curated series of timepieces meant to showcase a brand’s craftsmanship, innovation or heritage, typically revealed at luxury fairs like Watches and Wonders in Geneva.

Last week, Patek Philippe enthusiasts had a rare opportunity to experience the full scope of the brand’s 2025 offering at Watches of Switzerland’s flagship showroom at 155 Regent Street, London.

The showcase featured highlights from April’s Watches and Wonders, alongside sought-after models from Patek’s historic catalogue.

It offered what few locations outside Geneva can: a complete view of the brand’s modern and legacy collections.

Each family – Nautilus, Aquanaut, Calatrava, Golden Ellipse, Gondolo – and the newer Cubitus – was on display in Patek’s dedicated in-shop area.

“You can’t just go anywhere and see the full collection, other than here at 155 this week,” said David Lindsay, director of VIP services at Watches of Switzerland, when the exhibition was launched last week. “For 99.9 per cent of Patek enthusiasts in the UK, this is their chance.”

The standouts included a downsized white gold/ rose gold Cubitus, now in a more reasonable 40mm case – seemingly in response to feedback after the original’s unwieldy 45mm.

“The new size has opened the door to a whole new wave of collectors,” Lindsay notes.

Also attracting attention was the rose gold reference 4946 annual calendar, a 38mm model equipped with the 26-330 calibre and moon phase complication.

“You only need to set the date once a year,” Lindsay says. “And the finish – the satin vertical and horizontal lines – really stands out.”

Watches of Switzerland’s relationship with Patek Philippe dates back nearly 50 years. It sold the UK’s first Nautilus in 1977 and remains a key retail partner today.

“They only make around 72,000 watches a year. It’s not enough to go around. That’s why they are where they are,” Lindsay says.

“We’re not just showing watches – we’re showing 185 years of innovation, heritage and mechanical brilliance,” he continues. “That’s what makes this a special moment.”
