IT’S A GOOD DAY when British watchmaker Bremont announces a new release. Better yet, when it’s a confirmed cult favourite among collectors: the MB Meteor Orange Barrel.

Not a reissue, nor a nostalgia play, this latest evolution of the MB series is a precise recalibration. Stripping back, sharpening, and reasserting what makes the MB line one of the most distinctive tools in contemporary watchmaking.

At its core, this incarnation of the Meteor is still unmistakably the MB. The design continues Bremont’s long-standing collaboration with Martin-Baker, the British ejection seat manufacturer, whose real-world performance standards inform every element of the build. This time, the central barrel, rendered in vibrant Cerakote®-coated titanium, returns in its most iconic hue: orange. A reference to cockpit-grade utility, and an unmistakable hallmark of Bremont’s early MBII models.

CEO Davide Cerrato calls the reintroduction “a vivid design statement and a tribute to our long-standing partnership with Martin-Baker,” adding that it embodies the “bold innovation that defines Bremont.”

While the orange barrel might command the eye, the engineering does the heavy lifting. A 42mm Grade 2 titanium case delivers on lightness without compromise. The slimmer Trip-Tick® architecture refines the silhouette, while the protective internal systems, a soft iron anti-magnetic ring and anti-shock movement mount, reinforce the brand’s military-grade reputation. The BB14-AH movement with a 68-hour power reserve sits beneath a sapphire crystal open case back, offering a rare view into the mechanism’s inner workings.

Legibility remains paramount. Applied indexes, Super-LumiNova hands, and a galvanic metal dial (offered in both silver and black) strike the balance between form and function. Tested to withstand ejection forces, extreme temperature swings and impact, this is a watch built to earn its place. Whether that’s on the wrist of a pilot or a civilian with an eye for purpose-built design.
