IF YOU’RE AN ACTOR with designs on becoming a household name, a regular gig in a much-loved, multi-series TV show is the dream. Good for the bank balance, too. But it can also irrevocably tie you to that character in the public eye. Case in point: Kit Harington as Jon Snow in Game of Thrones.
In this scenario, the positives obviously outweigh the negatives. It’s one of the greatest shows of all-time. But heâs yet to shake his reputation as King in the North. Hopefully a new role in HBO hit Industry, as green tech CEO Henry Muck â a far less warm-hearted character than Snow, to say the least â will do the trick.
âI think there will be no doubt in the audienceâs mind that Henry Muck is not morally just at all, he really isnât. The question is whether they like him, whether they care for him, whether they care about him, and understand that those shaky moral foundations have arrived for a reason,â Harington told The Hollywood Reporter ahead of the showâs premiere in New York.
âAnd thatâs the aim. Jon Snow was wonderful, I loved him, but he was sometimes tricky to play because he was morally kind of perfect, which is difficult to play sometimes.â
Now it seems that Harington’s wardrobe has also taken inspiration from the world of high finance. Spotted in New York yesterday, the 37-year-old was wearing a pair of Loro Piana Open Walk Chukka boots; a brand loved by the behemoths of the business world. He’s styled them alongside some straight-leg chinos, a classic white tee and a grape-hued blazer.
Costing $1,630 a pop, youâll need a C-suite salary to buy them. Price justification comes in the form of suede uppers and nappa calfskin inners, while a tongue with a hidden elasticated opening ensures that can be slipped on and off with ease.
Weâre expecting these boots to have the same sartorial impact as their shorter sibling, the Summer Walk loafers (aka the official shoe of Succession). Thatâs a legacy any actor would be proud of.
