BRAD PITT BETTER check his rearview mirror, because Keanu Reeves is racing into pole position. On the heels of F1: The Movie, the John Wick actor is set to lead a documentary series to take viewers behind the scenes of the racing sport’s new U.S.-based Cadillac Formula 1 Team joining the grid in 2026.

Reeves is a well-known Formula One fan, but he sadly did not appear in the recent F1 film. (Still, we know John Wick can absolutely whip in a car). The actor previously narrated Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story – a 2023 four-part documentary for Disney+ that highlighted racer Jenson Button’s shock 2009 World Championship win. Now, Reeves will help tell the story of the first American Formula 1 team to join the race in over a decade.

As the actor stated in the official press release, “Our goal with the docuseries is to bring audiences into the heart of this journey and showcase what it takes to participate in one of the most exclusive sports arenas in the world.”

For Formula One fans, an American team on the grid will surely help increase the popularity of the international racing sport stateside. Formula One has been laser-focused on increasing the U.S. audience ever since Netflix’s Drive to Survive became a smash hit. With the success of F1: The Movie – co-produced by F1 driver Lewis Hamilton – the sport is currently making significant headway in the U.S. market. So, a U.S.-based team couldn’t arrive at a better time than the start of the 2026 season.

According to producer North One, the documentary will feature “an intimate look at the unique challenges of assembling a competitive team,” as well as “a first-hand account of the vision behind establishing a distinctly American presence in a sport long dominated by European powerhouses.” And of course, “the story will also explore the journey to build the first American-based team amidst the backdrop of Formula 1’s continuing growth with audiences in the U.S. and around the world.” There is no release date just yet.

With how well F1 is performing at the box office, a sequel with Reeves wouldn’t hurt too much either!
