Omega new Speedmaster Moonwatches

IF YOU’RE GOING TO OPEN A NEW YEAR with a statement, you may as well keep it confident and chic. Omega has done just that, launching 2026 with two new Speedmaster Moonwatch models that quietly flip the script by inverting the dial into crisp black-and-white configurations.

At a glance, they’re unmistakably Moonwatch. The proportions are familiar, the 42mm case remains unchanged, and the DNA is firmly intact. But look closer and the updates reveal themselves.

The signature step dial has been reworked using a double-plate construction: a polished black top layer paired with white subdials beneath, creating a reversed, high-contrast effect that feels sharper, cleaner and more contemporary than the classic layout.

It’s a subtle move, but a clever one. The contrast improves legibility, gives the subdials real presence, and makes the watch feel quietly refreshed .

That clarity carries through the rest of the design. Both models feature a black ceramic bezel with a white enamel tachymeter scale, while a box-shaped sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment adds a soft vintage note without tipping into nostalgia.

It’s the kind of detail you notice more with wear than at first glance.

The collection arrives in two distinct personalities. The stainless steel version is the purist’s pick: rhodium-plated hands and markers, white Super-LumiNova, and a look that stays true to the Speedmaster’s tool-watch roots. It’s restrained, and effortlessly wearable.

The 18K Moonshine™ Gold version takes a warmer approach. Omega’s proprietary yellow-gold alloy brings depth to the case and bracelet, while Moonshine™ Gold hands, markers and subdial details add a subtle richness to the dial. A PVD Moonshine™ Gold chronograph hand ties it all together.

Inside both watches is the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861 – the modern evolution of the movement once trusted by NASA astronauts. Antimagnetic, chronometer-certified and backed by a five-year warranty, it delivers serious mechanical credibility without any need for fanfare.

What makes these new Speedmasters work is restraint. Omega hasn’t chased novelty or leaned too hard on its own history.

Instead, it’s played with contrast, sharpened the details, and trusted that one of the most recognisable watches in the world doesn’t need reinvention – just a smart, considered update.
