Founded in 1755, the world’s oldest watch manufacturer in continuous production marked its 270th in style. “We wanted to celebrate and preserve our history but also perpetuate the maison’s story for future generations,” says Christian Selmoni, style and heritage director. First came the Les Cabinotiers Solaria Ultra Grand Complication — La Première, a 41-complication wristwatch. Then followed La Quête du Temps, a monumental automaton clock and centrepiece of the Louvre’s new ‘Mécaniques d’Art’ exhibition — fitting milestones in a 270-year quest.
