TO QUOTE THE EMMY-WINNING sitcom Schitt’s Creek: “What’s your favourite season?” Alexis Rose (Annie Murphy) asks her mother. “Awards!” says Moira Rose (Catherine O’Hara).
Indeed, we bet the Rose matriarch is absolutely jubilant (we know she’d like that word) that her favourite season has kicked off with the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards. There were plenty of accolades passed around; rounds of applause for Adolescence and Severance, who came out on top with the most wins. As for the other part Mrs Rose loves about an awards show? The red carpet style.
And this year, with the likes of red carpet masters like Colman Domingo and Seth Rogen in attendance, there were many notable fashion moments. But we tasked our editors here at Esquire to pick their best dressed man from the night. Scroll on for the results.

Tramell Tillman
Wearing: custom Dolce & Gabbana
“I’m willing to get behind anyone who distances themselves from the much-maligned plain black suit and bowtie look. Tillman seems to have gone in the complete opposite direction here, in a crisp, all-white Dolce & Gabbana double-breasted tux. It’s good old fashion tailoring, with the clean lines really emphasising the cut. The diamond brooch (which I’m hearing is Boucheron) is the coup de grâce, adding the right amount of shimmer without overwhelming the rest of the outfit. “Respectfully, I did not know who this man was when he appeared on the red carpet, but his suit immediately caught my attention. It encapsulates everything about our current moment for ’80s tailoring: wide shoulders, wide lapels, wide pants, wide tie. And I love a purple and green combo. An outfit so good that it introduced me to a local talent such as Christopher Chung. Isn’t that the charm of awards season?
