The best dressed men on the 2025 Governors Awards red carpet
From Jeremy Allen White to Jacob Elordi, the sharpest men erred to a classic black and white suit

AND WE’RE OFF! The awards race has officially begun with the 2025 Governors Awards. Also known as the Honorary Oscars, it’s a ceremony a few months before the upcoming Academy Awards to honour extraordinary distinction in lifetime achievement in cinema and exceptional contributions to the state of motion picture arts and sciences. Past recipients include Jackie Chan, Angelina Jolie (on top of her Best Supporting Actress Oscar for Girl Interrupted), Hayao Miyazaki, and more. This year, the honourees are: Debbie Allen, Tom Cruise, Wynn Thomas, and Dolly Parton.
In terms of the evening’s style, Hollywood’s best and brightest stepped onto the red carpet in keeping with classic black suits. On the classic side, we have Alexander Skarsgård, Leonardo DiCaprio, Austin Butler, and Oscar Isaac. Noticeably, Jacob Elordi and Jonathan Bailey went tieless; Jeremy Allen White brought it a step further with a fully buttoned bib shirt tucked into his cummerbund, exposing a singlet underneath. (Yes, chef!) The only person not in a black suit? That’d be Jeremy Strong in a fade olive suit – Kendall Roy plays to his own tune.
Sure, the sea of conservative black suits for one of the first award race gatherings isn’t a bad move – the Oscar hopefuls will be meeting voters, after all. Below, a look at some of the best dressed men from the evening.
